Mr. Simon Nichols, Drew and Mimi's new boss, and Mr. Wick's superior at Winfred-Lauder, appears in the Season 6 episode of The Drew Carey Show, titled "Drew Can't Carey a Tune" (episode #9). The part of Simon is played in the episode in a guest appearance by Bruce A. Young.
Simon, a hard-nosed character who keeps a "crap list" of those who rub him the wrong way, is a quite demanding person, as Drew endeavors to get to into his good graces, or, to at least, stay off of his "crap list", by attending his church.
Nichols receives a call asking him to head up fundraising for a new roof for his church. Drew contributes $100 and offers to begin attending services. He volunteers to sing at a church benefit.
Although Nichols and Reverend Holliday (Richard Gant), the church's minister, are both skeptical, Drew insists that he has musical talent. But, when Drew's performance (with an accordion and knee cymbals) bombs badly, He and his son Richard (played by Arjay Smith) who writes a scathing review in the church's newsletter the next day, tell Drew, along with the rest of the congregation, that his singing "stinks", as Nichols officialy places him on his "crap list"!
